Egon Sky is my study of Egon Schiele. The title is a play on his name, the way it sounded to me the first time I heard it said out loud, and it stuck. I have loved his work since I first saw the drawings: a line that looks like it might break and never does, bodies that are all angle and nerve, a single contour carrying a whole mood. I wanted to sit inside that language for one night and see what came back in mine. Three figures on kraft paper, drawn fast and left alone. Then color laid on like weather: a pink, a green, a gold. The calligraphy in the margins is mine, the marks I make when I am thinking and not looking. None of it copies anything he made. It is a conversation with him, a hundred years late. Timed edition: three days, 28 canvases. 12" x 18" gallery-wrapped canvas, 1.25" deep and ready to hang, with a numbered certificate registered in your name. $150, and the shipping is on me, anywhere in the world. When the window closes or the 28 are gone, it is never printed again at this size.
