Black India ink, Japanese brushes, 22" x 30" archival paper. One stroke at a time, no undo, no going back — that's how all of them are made, and it's why most of them don't survive. This one did.
Then I went back in. Watercolor over the ink — the yellow, the blue, the red of her lips, the white line running through her hair — and she became something else. What you see here is the finished painting, and it's the one that ships. A $10,000 original.
She was painted for Ink + Flow, and she never found a collector. So instead of putting her in a sale, I'm giving her away.
