About the work
Sketchbook Series · 2022 2022 was one of the most prolific years of my life. I painted around the clock, and I made myself a promise: finish the sketchbooks. Not fill them — finish them. Every page, every spread, had to be a complete painting before I could turn it. Japanese brushes, sumi and colored inks, watercolor laid down fast and left alone, all inside Moleskine sketchbooks that lived in my bag and on my desk and, more than once, in bed beside me. Some pages took a minute. Some took a night. None of them were planned. This is that collection. Each piece is one of those pages or spreads, exactly as it was painted — no studio version, no second try. The names came later, from the feeling each one left behind.
