About the work

13" x 19" Mixed Media Original — every one begins as a museum-grade giclée, archival pigment on heavy fine-art stock, and then comes back to the studio bench. Sabet works over the surface by hand — ink, paint, gestures that exist on this sheet and nowhere else — then signs it. The print lays the foundation; the hand makes it a one of one. No two are alike, and yours is the only one exactly like it. These pieces were created in 2018. A look back at my work during some of my most active years. A Mixed media original is a piece that was originally created digitally as the medium, printed and hand embellished and signed by Sabet.

What it is. Printed from the artist's master file on 189 gsm matte fine-art paper. Ali Sabet paints both by hand — Japanese brushes, sumi and coloured inks, watercolour, acrylic — and digitally.

Edition. Open edition. Not limited, and not numbered.
The master. The master — the artist's digital file — is kept by the studio. It has not been destroyed, altered or cancelled.
Certificate. A certificate of authenticity is registered in your name — a digital record issued by the studio, not a hand-signed document.
